- Screening Kit + community group license ($145.00)
- Screening Kit + K-12 School public library license ($95.00)
▷ Why are the prices for institutional screening licenses higher than home-use DVDs?
Home video DVDs do not include public performance rights, so their use is limited to home screenings with just a few people. Having public performance rights greatly increases the potential uses of the film and therefore costs more. As independent filmmakers, our goal is to make the film accessible to all types of organizations and, at the same time, generate enough revenue to keep our outreach efforts moving forward. We therefore offer a tiered licensing and pricing system based on the general usage for each type of organization and their operating budgets.
▷ What is a public performance?
According to the U.S. copyright law (Title 17, United States Code, Section 110), a public performance is any screening of a videocassette, DVD, videodisc or film which occurs outside of the home, or at any place where people are gathered who are not family members, such as in a school, library, auditorium, classroom or meeting room. Please see more helpful information about public performance rights HERE.
